DM Atherton is the sole owner of the MacDougall Trademark in the United States as it relates to the production of Highland bagpipes. Other bagpipe makers, distributors, or retailers are not authorized to affix the MacDougall brand name in any manner to bagpipes of their making, or those they are marketing, as this would infringe on the intellectual property of DM Atherton pipes. DM Atherton is still actively using this Trademark.

Please be warned that selling counterfeit products are illegal and punishable by civil and criminal courts according to United States Federal trademark, copyright, and intellectual properties laws and regulations.
